How Private Lessons Work

Initial Session

Assessment & Planning

A one-on-one session covering your dog's history, your goals, and a hands-on behavioural assessment. Darren will develop a custom training plan and send you home with a clear set of homework and next steps.

Location: Your home or our training facility

Training Sessions

Hands-On Instruction

Each session focuses on hands-on training with real-time feedback and coaching. Darren adjusts the approach based on your dog's progress and provides email support between sessions.

Frequency: Weekly or fortnightly recommended

Follow-up & Maintenance

Long-Term Success

As your dog progresses, sessions focus on generalising skills to new environments, involving other family members, and developing a maintenance plan that gives you the tools to continue independently. Booster sessions are available as needed.

Before you book — please read this

No outcome is guaranteed, promised or implied. What any dog achieves depends on its age, breed, history and temperament, on how long the behaviour has been practised, and above all on what you do in the days between sessions. Most of the work happens in your week, not in the hour with Darren.

You will get an honest assessment of what is realistic for your dog, including when the answer is that training is not the right tool, or that the problem needs a vet or a behaviourist first. You will not be sold a timeline.
